Simple things

I love remembering the simple things like...

1. Driving with the windows down even though it makes my hair messy
2. Laughing so hard it hurts even though it makes me sore the next day
3. Having my dog follow me all around the house even though i trip on him sometimes
4. Looking at old pictures that remind me of my awkward years even though i havent changed much.
5. Hearing a french person laugh (even though they say everyone laughs in the same language, a french person's laugh is very distinctive).
6. Learning that my cool father was a safety patrol president in 6th grade even though only nerds do it now.
7. Remembering putting half a bottle of lemon juice on my hair in 7th grade even though it didn't lighten my hair one bit.
8. Opening junk mail because it is still mail AND it is addressed to me even though everyone else finds it to be a nuisance
9. Having to use a planner to keep my life organized even though i lose it a lot

DMV Dork

So last week, i flaunted my dorkiness at the DMV. i went in and walked up to the counter and had the following conversation:

Me: "I need to get a NH driver's license."
DMV guy: "Oh. we just gave out the last one."
Me: "OH MAN! are you serious?"
DMV guy: (asking the other DMV guy) "yeah, when are we getting more of those NH ones in?"
Other DMV guy: "Not until the first of the month."
Me: "for real? well, i guess i will hafta come back."

Now, the sad part is that i wasnt playing along. i seriously thought that i had to wait. sad, huh? after they burst into a fit of laughter, i realized that they were joking, but i must have had D-O-R-K written on my head all day.

Another random posting from the life of Nej

Well, i have been praying for a lot more hours at work, along with direction for my employment future. the hours have been wonderful. my store has only been scheduling me for 4 hours or so per week, but, i have been getting 35 or so hours because of call-outs, etc. yeah! the Lord provides! i must admit, though, that working this little drives me a little insane. every other time i have been home since i graduated from high school, i have been working 70+ hours per week. Now, i feel like i have so much free time and i am not quite sure what to do with it.
as for the job situation, i did interview for a senior assistant position at my work. it would come with a nice pay raise, benefits (i think), etc. and i would basically commit until january. i also applied to work at a center that specializes in early intervention for children with special needs, and i am also going to apply for a position working for the state (ask me if you wanna know).
Next on the agenda, I am extremely excited about going to WI for graduation. I cannot wait to see everyone! I am also going to MI for the last week of June to watch 2 of my 3 nephews. Dawn and Joel are taking Verbert with them, so i wont be able to care for him. oh well, there's always next year!

We are the CHAMPIONS!
No, not my girls. Our team lost by two in the championship game. Second in the state of NH. not bad. They played a great game, and were ahead by nine at half time. Defense was miscombobulated during the second half. see, we were doing a triangle and two defense (double teaming one girl), but when she wasnt playing, my team would go back to their normal man-to-man defense. (no, i do NOT call it person to person or woman-to-woman, and i laugh at those that do)! anyway, at one point, some of the girls were doing one defense while the rest of the team was doing the other. obviously, this was not effective! the team couldnt hear me communicating with them because of the outrageous noise in the gym and time-outs were scarce! anyway, they played well and my team is young. i am looking forward to a great season next year!
on the other hand, the guys team just earned the regional championship! they played really well and were coached phenomenally!
Congrats guys!
