Summah Update

Wow. things here have been crazy busy. i will give you all an update about what im doing and learning...
In my devotions, i have been focusing on Psalm 119. I read it this past semester and thought "i need to spend more time here." so i decided now is the time. i'm not even a quarter of the way throught the chapter, but i am learning much about the tongue and heart. my tongue has gotten me in trouble my entire life, (yes mom, i know you are agreeing right now!) and as i read this Psalm, i see exactly what the tongue is for... "With my lips will i declare all the judgements of thy mouth", "i have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies", and what the tongue is NOT for..."Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes." Sometimes it is better to remain QUIET than to try and speak back at someone. this Psalm is just the beginning of my study on the tongue.
i have also noticed that Aleph talks about seeking God with his "WHOLE HEART". this got me thinking about how often i do things half-heartedly. too often. Aleph also refers to his heart when he says "I will praise thee with uprightness of heart". Sometimes i find myself going through the motions of praying or singing...when i am not doing it with an upright heart - rather just the opposite.
I am also reading "Don't Waste Your Life" by John Piper. Book report to follow:)

In other news, family vacation went well. Mark and Ashley's wedding was absolutely beautiful (hopefully i will have pictures on here soon). Work is wicked busy.

As for the rest of the story...lately i have felt like a little kid who knows that bedtime is approaching. kids tend to hurry and play, play, play, because they know that soon they will have to go to sleep. as for me, i am trying to play, play, play, before i must return to class, work, class, work.

this summer is flying by...and i still dont have a tan.

Independence Day!

Sometimes...things dont go as planned!
For Independence Day, Lisa, Shannon, Aaron, and I all went to Boston. It was tons of fun, and i think my dork of the day story is summed up in the following picture! We brought a cooler on wheels (definitly a great invention!), however, we did not expect it to be so difficult to get the cooler through the exit thing at the T. thankfully, no one saw us trying to manuever the cooler through there. this is one of the few times where i didnt have a back-up plan if we couldnt get it in there...i mean, what do people in wheelchairs do?

Notice our coloring in the following pictures...as shannon would say, "we were wearing like 700 spf!" hahaha. i guess it didnt work very well!

The rest of the evening went well! Aaron showed up in the afternoon, then we watched fireworks! So fun!

What a delightful end to a great day!
